“El Cielo” – The Penthouse Guest Reviews

“Superb Penthouse Apartment in Lovely Location”

We stayed for 2 weeks in the El Cielo penthouse apartment at Altea Hills and had an absolutely splendid holiday.

The apartment is in a lovely location, high up in the hills with superb views down the valley to the sea. It is also very quiet – although we were there in the early part of June, so out of the peak holiday season. The apartment is generally in excellent condition, is well maintained and very well equipped, with all home-from-home comforts – including Sky TV so that you can see just how bad the weather is back in the UK!!

The sun terrace/solarium area, which is upstairs from the main apartment, is a brilliant feature and gets wall-to-wall sunshine pretty much all day. Our only small criticism of the apartment is that some maintenance work is required here to ensure that it is of the same high standard as the rest of the apartment.

The pool for the apartment complex is very good and in the time we were there it was very quiet, so an ideal place for peaceful sunbathing and swimming. The pool and the grounds around the apartment complex are in first rate condition and it’s clear that there are people working on them constantly to keep them in such good shape.

Altea is a beautiful area, with plenty of excellent restaurants both on the sea front and particularly up in the old town area.

It’s essential to have a car – there is virtually nothing in the way of restaurants and bars within walking distance, so you have to drive everywhere, but there are taxi services available if you want to leave the car at home and fully partake of the local beer and wine!

“Stunning Penthouse!”

Found this on Costa Blanca Direct web-site and it certainly met up to the luxury description!

The location & views are stunning in Altea Hills, everywhere in the estate very clean. Three good sized bedrooms & all the amenities you would require. Little things like “Sky” that works to free wi-fi with excellent coverage help.

We took the AVE train from Valencia to Madrid, had fantastic time, but was great to come back to our Penthouse.

Excellent places to visit like Denia, Altea Old Town, Alicante Castle & Benidorm.

10/10 for this accommodation and location!

“An absolutely dream apartment”

The apartment is probably the best I have stayed in. I can only describe it as a show home: the decor and furnishings are beautiful. The sofas both in the apartment and on the terrace were so comfortable; something that doesn’t occur very often! There were lots of ‘nice’ touches such as hand soap in the bathrooms; dishwasher tablets and washing machine powder in the kitchen/utility room. All my dealings with the owner Ed were simple and straightforward. His manager Barry was extremely helpful and I am sure had we had any problems, which we didn’t, he would have have been on hand! Although we went to Altea at the height of the season the apartment ‘complex’ was extremely quiet as was the pool area. Altea Hills is in a superb area and is close to obviously Altea as well as Calpe and Benidorm. When we next visit this part of Altea which we certainly will I will definitely be asking Ed if I might borrow his apartment again! This guide suggests I should write what I liked least. The only thing I didn’t like was having to leave as it was a perfect holiday.

“La Vista” – The Two Bed Guest Reviews

“A fantastic, relaxing week”

We chose La Vista after searching extensively through a number of vacation rental opportunities around Altea online. We were looking for a relaxing place to chill after a busy week visiting friends in the UK. We would absolutely recommend this property to others.

Barry, the local agent, welcomed us upon arrival at the property and showed us the way to the Jardines building. He was very knowledgeable about the area and provided recommendations for our stay. There is security which keeps watch over and controls access to the property. It is recommended in the property description that you hire a car – we would strongly suggest this as well. It is a few minutes drive up into the hills to where the property is situated, and it is VERY hilly. We are big walkers, especially when exploring a new travel destination, but it would have been labour intensive to trek up and down every day to the main city.

The apartment was bright and spacious. We were really pleased with the large balcony and the amazing views of the bay; the property may be a bit high in the hills, but the view is so worth it. There is a a table outside for enjoying morning meals on the balcony as well as two sun loungers. We didn’t make extensive use of the kitchen facilities, but the kitchen was very nice and super clean. It was very well equipped and a few staple items were provided as well. The bathrooms were very nice, modern and clean. Water pressure was really good in the shower. The bed was very comfy. The living area was very cozy and comfortable. It was a bit cold to use the pool, but it did look nice and well kept.

There is a small grocery store a short drive away. Barry was able to direct us to a very large grocery store which was open on Sunday, the day we arrived.

We appreciated that the property was able to cater for young children. A high chair and cot were made available to us. We ended up setting up the cot in the second bedroom. The shutters close very tightly and the room was nearly black even when it was light out – our little one slept amazing in there.

The Greenwich Marina is a short drive from the property and I’d highly recommend visiting. There are a number of restaurants here. We were able to find a few from which we could order food to take away, which was great in the evenings when the little one was sleeping. If you have time definitely stay and eat on the numerous patios overlooking the water.

“Stayed with Costa Blanca Direct 3 times and will be going back for a 4th”

It is exactly what it looks like in the brochure, both apartments are clean and looked after. The views are worth the rent alone.

Rent a small car as the roads are tight. Altea at night is very special, don’t leave without eating at as many of the restautants in Altea old town as possible all very good. Greenwich marina is the perfect place for a morning coffee and a night out. The water park at Benidorm is expensive but is worth it (take some pack up). Calpe beach needs to be visited, both sides of the rock. Visit the fresh water Spa (take the AP 7 to Valencia-dont go through the toll- take a left to collissa and follow the Fontes sign) Be careful, its very cold, but worth the pain.
