Theme Parks

To keep the kids happy (and adults too!) there are plenty of theme parks. Terra Mitica Amusement Park and Rides (www.terramiticapark.com), Mundomar Marine Animal Park (www.mundomar.es), Aqualandia Water Park (www.aqualandia.net), Terra Natura Wildlife Park and Aqua Natura Water Park (www.terranatura.com) are all near Benidorm (only 20 mins away). There are also two safari parks (Vergel and Aitana) in the Alicante area.

Towns & Villages

The area boasts many award winning ‘blue flag’ beaches a short drive away (awarded for their clear water). The lovely stretches at Altea and Calpe are particularly noteworthy. Calpe is only 9km away and is ideal for families as it has a long sandy beach and children’s play areas.

Other attractions nearby include Altea old town (4km away), wine tasting at Jalon and the waterfalls at Fonts de Algar. Breathtaking views at Guadalest village, ‘hanging’ castle and lake are just 25 min away. The towns of Denia and Javea are also well worth exploring.

The stunning old town of Altea, with its narrow cobbled streets, has designer boutiques, art shops and a magnificent blue domed Church. In front of the church lies a beautiful plaza lined with restaurants and cafe/bars.

The large market that takes place on the seafront promenade of Altea each Tuesday is one of the biggest of its kind on the Costa Blanca.

Sports & Golf

This is an ideal location for walkers, cyclists and sports enthusiasts. Behind the apartment sits the Sierra Bernia mountain chain which offers beautiful hiking paths and old remains of the Moorish times. The back-country of Altea offers bikers and hikers endless options. There are two water sports centres serving Altea. Both offer diving, windsurfing, fishing, boat cruises and sailing. The Luis Campomanes ‘Greenwich’ Marina (the port of Altea) is only 5 mins away and is also home to many impressive yachts and cruisers, bars and restaurants.

There are 8 superb golf courses within half an hour of the apartments and many more within a 1 hour drive. The Don Cayo course (5 mins away) is a 9 hole course with spectacular views along the coast. Further afield there is a selection of 18 hole courses – including the challenging championship Nicklaus designed course at Villaitana, Benidorm (one par 72 championship and one par 62), the Olazabal designed La Sella course (nr Javea), and the Ballesteros designed course at Oliva Nova (nr Denia). There are also 9 hole courses at Benissa (Ifach) and Javea. It is always advisable to book tee times.

We recommend that you hire a car in order to easily enjoy everything that the area has to offer.

Full driving instructions will be sent prior to your holiday. Car hire at the airports and the drive to the apartments is straightforward.

The roads are easy to navigate, and most attractions are no further than 30 mins by car in either direction.

Alicante Airport is 58km (40 mins) away and Valencia Airport is 135km (1 hour 15 mins) away.

For the day to day essentials, the nearest supermarket is only a 5 minute drive away.
